What Is A Benign Tumor?

By a benign brain tumor, we are referring to the types of tumors that no longer recur when it is completely removed by surgery performed by an experienced and skilled neurosurgeon, that is, the patient can be treated completely. These are usually tumors that doctors call “meningioma”, originating from the cells of the membranes surrounding the brain. Of course, although they are called benign, they can be life-threatening because they compress the brain; i.e. they have to be removed immediately. Sometimes even a benign brain tumor may change its temperament over time; it can become a more malignant tumor.

It should not be forgotten that our brain does not have a part that does not think or does not function at all. That is, if a tumor compresses the brain, it will cause damage although the patient may not realize it. Sometimes, if this damage continues for a long time; then even if the pressure is removed by an operation, it may not be possible to reverse that damage. So if your neurosurgeon has recommended you surgery, do not ever wait…
