What Is A Stem Cell?

A stem cell is a cell that has the ability to transform into every different cell in the human body. While these cells are very numerous during the developmental period in the mother’s womb, the number decrease as the age progresses; after the age of 100, the number can even be only a handful. But these few cells actually have the ability to regenerate each organ.

In fact, some relatively short-lived cells such as digestive system cells and blood cells are already renewed every day thanks to the aforementioned stem cells. Of course, there are scientists who think that cancer is also made up of stem cells. If one day, modern medicine succeeds in turning these stem cells into the cells we need; then many common diseases of our era will be cured, all organs or even the entire body will be renewed and thus human life will be extended.

Although the point reached in the research is quite behind this target; the accumulation of knowledge obtained from the blood stem cells means that it will not be long before we reach this target. Lives too long, maybe not too far away…
